ConEC is Conestoga Engineering Society's yearly Engineering Competition. This competition is usually held in November and consists of Junior Design Competition and Senior Design Competition. The competitors are given a design challenge and have 4 hours to complete it.
The winners go on to represent Conestoga College at the Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC), where they compete against Universities from across Ontario. Those who do well at OEC have the opportunity to continue on to the Canadian Engineering Competition, where they represent Ontario schools against other schools from across Canada.
The committee for this event would help plan ConEC. This includes, creating the design challenges, organizing food, booking the location, creating a shopping list for the event, and actually running the event.
Every year, the Conestoga Engineering Society holds an orientation week for the new students coming into the degree engineering programs at Conestoga College. The committee for this event would help plan the activities that run during the "Frosh" week and all related logistics. This includes selecting the theme for the week, designing logos for shirts, banners, and patches, planning events, creating and distributing sponsorship packages, coordinating meals, and more. The new students are also encouraged to join the frosh committee for the following year.
The month of March is National Engineering Month in Canada an the NEM committee is in charge of organizing and running events throughout the month. These events will consist of an external event such as an event affiliated with the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES). In addition, there will be internal events that could include drop-in mini-events, speaker series, outreach events, and public displays of awesomeness.
The sponsorship committee is organized by the sponsorship director and will aid in the search for sponsorship within the local community. They will create a sponsorship package that can be distributed by students to companies. A sponsorship level system will be created to clarify what different marketing is offered by CES to the companies in exchange for different levels of sponsorship.
